About Medica Humana

Medica Humana International Foundation is a Non-Governmental and Not-for-Profit Organization. It was established in July 1996, in the city of Breda, Netherlands. The founding Board Members are Professor Donald Huisingh and Dr. Adewale Salami. 

Originally, the foundation aimed at supporting the struggle against Preventable, Poverty-Related Diseases especially in Africa and Developing Countries. Currently, with advent of Internet and Social Media, Medica Humana focuses on promoting Preventive Healthcare globally. 

The primary aim of Medica Humana is to help More People become More Aware and Better Informed, about Human Health and Diseases. The ultimate goal is to Prevent Diseases or to Detect and Treat Diseases very early, before they become Life-threatening, Urgent or Too Late.

Data from Research and Scientific Facts and Figures from all over the world, indicate that the majority of the Diseases or Healthcare issues that most people face nowadays, are either preventable or easily treated or cured, if they are detected early.

If everybody would take more Preventive healthcare measures, instead of waiting or focusing on Treatments, then we can significantly reduce the Cost of Diseases, Disease Burden and Quality of Life of Individuals, Families and Groups.

Ignorance or Lack of Knowledge are very common factors for most Preventable Diseases. One of the simplest of Preventive Healthcare measures is by actively Gaining and Sharing Medical and Healthcare Knowledge.

By having more basic knowledge and understanding of the human body in health and in disease, many people, young or old, will be able to help themselves and can even help others.
At Medica Humana, we believe that basic healthcare knowledge should not be the exclusive in the brains of doctors and other healthcare professionals, especially when there is scarcity of these professionals.
